Tetbury Memorial Recreation Ground (Entrance from Hampton Street/Chavenage Lane)

Everything is moving in the right direction

Everything is moving in the right direction, thanks to the Summer Shows’ hard working committee. The Dog Show is booked and the rosettes have been ordered by Trudy and Phil Eldridge, the schedule has been updated and is ready for printing, Sheila Poole has ordered the marquee and Penny Dobson has some fabulous attractions for the recreation ground lined up. Kathryn Limoi has been busy organising a variety of stalls to suit all ages and back by popular demand is the Big Pan, yes all those yummy burgers, bacon butties and sausage baps, makes your mouth water just thinking about them doesn’t it!

The Parade is slowly beginning to grow, Boxer Services are fantastic, Cliff Perks has a whole array of different vehicles involved and Capelli are going to stun you all. However I do need more participants, local groups or businesses – you can choose your own theme, you will be walking so you don’t have to worry about floats, it really is that easy. AND don’t forget Long Street will be officially closed for an hour 12.15pm – 1.15pm. Also there is the Fancy Dress competition Capelli are very generously sponsoring, as Hayley said “it would be good to have The Parade and Fancy Dress how it was back in the day.”  Hear, hear!

There will be three categories for the Fancy Dress:

3 – 5 years the theme for their fancy dress will be super heroes

6 – 9 years Film characters

10 – 14 years – a 1918 military theme or the fashion of that era to commemorate 100 years since the end of World War 1.

And of course prizes 1st, 2nd and 3rd for each category will be awarded £25, £15 and £5 respectively. Participants will need to complete an entry form and these can be picked up from either Capelli or Tetbury Town Council from 1st of June and returned no later than Monday 2 July to Capelli or Tetbury Town Council.

Come on Tetbury let’s make this years’ Summer Show Parade a bumper one, do give me a call Terri White:  01666 504189 or email t.whitemol@gmail.com
